Cruise - Day 2 - Sea Day

Today is the first full day of the cruise and we are at sea going across the ditch; with the ditch being the channel between Australia and New Zealand.

At breakfast, we shared our table with an older couple from Australia, in fact they shared their table to us, I believe. The gentleman started the conversation and we managed to learn about the Melbourne Cup, the oneupmanship between Australia and New Zealand, much like the one between Sydney and Melbourne and some of the political inclination of Australians.

We went to a presentation to learn about the first port, Dunedin, that we are going to be, then onto another presentation about gemstones. We were held captive in the store waiting for the raffle. We did not win.

Today is also the first of two formal night. Everybody looks sharp. As always, we managed a group picture on our own. For dinner, our group of 21 could not possibly be put into one table but we were all put into an almost exclusive area with 5 tables. So we have decided to play music table via a draw every night to assign tables and sit with different people among our group. It has been fun.

There was a show after. Unlike the shows by MSC in our last cruise that we had before, we actually are having increasing numbers in the audience as we go along. After the show, we all went to support Winnie's audition to be a finalist. The quality of the competition is unexpectedly, amazing.

So as you can tell, nothing much happens during these sea days.
